Southwind Building Products was founded under the name Cherokee Carpet Industries in 1994 with a commitment to producing high-quality yet affordable broadloom carpeting. Since its first day and throughout its transformative history, Southwind’s carpets have always been made with pride in Dalton, Georgia.
Soon after, Cherokee acquired Southwind Carpets in 1997 and expanded sales direct to retail flooring stores. Today, the Southwind Carpets division provides everything from residential to Main Street commercial carpets exclusively to its extensive U.S. network.
Southwind Hard Surface division launched in 2015 to offer Southwind’s dealers a full line of LVP, WPC, and RSPC.
In May 2021, F9 Brands Inc. acquired Southwind and renamed it Southwind Building Products. F9 Brands based in Franklin, TN, and privately owned, owns and manages companies within the building products, home improvement, home décor markets.
